Founded in 1999 by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, Sass & Bide has become one of the most
successful Australian brands of all time. Combining the perfect balance of design and business, they are
united by a great friendship and their love of vintage clothing.

Famously catapulted into the international market place via a chance meeting with Sarah Jessica Parker,
the duo started by selling customized jeans on a humble market stall on London’s Portobello Road and
have since grown into a multimillion dollar clothing brand.

On their return to Sydney in ‘99 they began to cultivate an underground fashion following, and it wasn’t
long before Sass & Bide showcased their first seasonal collection at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week.

Many successful seasons later the brand is going from strength to strength, prominently showing at both
London and New York Fashion Week.

Still renowned for their leading reputation in the denim world; Sass & Bide collections have become
instantly recognizable for their signature embellishments of seeds, raffia, teeth, shells and metal.

Taking inspiration from the obscure and the beautiful, the brand has an edgy, sexy vibe. Collections are
playful and daring and are to be worn with a fun-loving attitude.
